MA’AT, named after the Afrikan Goddess MA’AT, who symbolizes truth, justice, and righteousness, provides a support base for Champaign Area Black students and other black student union members. MA’AT maintains and enhances the credibility of the Central Black Student Union (CBSU) and establishes channels of communication between administration and students. MA’AT continues to impact the quality of education, by providing cultural activities that promote unity and cultural awareness for all. MA’AT persists to enrich and fulfill the experience of the African American student by providing a strong, organized unit of programs, created by and for the exceptional African American students. However, students from all backgrounds are encouraged to join.
